Store Manager Trainees

Positions are currently available for Store Manager Trainees with training locations in Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Relocation is generally a requirement for training or after training is completed. Relocation limitations are determined and agreed upon prior to hire. Retail, management and agriculture background a plus.

Successful Store Manager Training Goals:

  • Provide exemplary customer service.
  • Recruit, evaluate, train and lead store staff.
  • Be familiar with, adhere to, and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the P&L including sales, gross margin, payroll control and shrink.
  • Maintain a program of store standards for image, and facilities maintenance.
  • Implement Advertising and Sales promotion programs.
  • Display strong merchandising throughout store and execute plan-o-grams.
  • Adherence to legal guidelines, including such things as OSHA requirements, non-discriminatory practices, price changes, etc.
  • Give input in preparing, and adherence to, budget guidelines.
  • Maintain strong communications between store and all support departments.
  • Active business member, in good standing, within the community.

College Students - Store Manager Trainee Education Assistance
The Store Manager Trainee Education Assistance Program is designed to provide part-time employment for approved Orscheln Store Manager Trainees, who are full-time students, by reimbursing education costs and by benefiting both the employee and the Company by offering full-time employment after completion of the employees' education.

Eligibility

  • Full-time Junior or Senior student (minimum 12 credit hours per semester) at an accredited college or university, enrolled in a Company approved degreed program.
  • Part-time Orscheln Farm & Home employee in good standing (minimum of 20 hours per week).

General Guidelines

  • Employee must commit for a minimum of one-year full-time employment with Orscheln Farm & Home after completion of degree.
  • Education reimbursement begins at the completion of the first full semester as an Orscheln Farm & Home employee.
  • Must have a minimum of a "C" grade average for the semester.

Payment

  • Payment of up to $1,000.00 per semester, for a maximum of four (4) semesters.
  • Must present proof of acceptable grades, verification of full-time enrollment and proof of education-related expenses.

Associate Degree Students
Employees who are employed during the duration of their last semester or longer, and upon completion of an approved Associates Degree at an accredited college or university, may be eligible for a one-time payment of $500.00. The above "General Guidelines" apply.
